REGISTERING YOUR PLACE AT BABY ROOM
Availability
To confirm availabilities at Baby Room, we will need the following information from you -
- Which of our four locations are you interested in?
- How old is your child?
- Which days of the week would you like your child to attend?
- When would you like to start at Baby Room?
The availability of places varies at our nurseries; generally a lot of people want their children to start at the beginning of the school term in September and after Christmas in January so those times are really busy and places disappear fast.
Parents with children already registered have priority on the waiting list and so if you cannot get the days you want it may be an option to book for another day and then see if your first choice becomes available - it often does. Generally Mondays and Fridays are our quieter days and so it may be an option to book for that day and then wait for a move.
Viewings
Please come to our nurseries to see what we do - you can arrange a viewing by contacting the administration team on 0208 673 5110 or info@babyroom.co.uk. Baby Room offer viewings daily at 11am or 3.30pm as these times are good for the routines of our children. We only allow one family to view the nursery at each session so you can be assured of our staff’s full attention. If you would like to visit outside of these times this can can be arranged.
Applying for a Place
Please complete an application form (see the menu on the left for "Application Form") and either post to Head Office, email to info@babyroom.co.uk or drop off to one of our nearest nurseries. Once we have received your application we will confirm in writing that we do (or don't) have availabilities. If there are availabilities, the next step to get the ball rolling is to get a deposit from you in order to secure your space at Baby Room. Please see the menu on the left for "Deposits".
Settling In Sessions
Each child is entitled to one free Settling In Session for each day of the week they attend nursery. Each session is three hours and session times are either 9am-12pm or 3pm-6pm.
We recommend children attend Settling In Sessions one week prior to commencing nursery full time, on the same days they will be attending nursery ie if a child will be attending nursery every Tuesday and Wednesday, we recommend they do their Settling In Sessions on the Tuesday and Wednesday prior to full time commencement.
From our experience all children settle in differently – for some children it is a “walk in the park” and for others it can be a difficult time. The amount of settling in that we offer tends to be adequate for a majority of children, although we have had others that require more. If you do require more settling this can be agreed with the nursery manager if they feel it is necessary.
Many parents do like the peace of mind before they return to work that their child is completely settled. The parents that need this level of reassurance tend to start nursery a week earlier.
When you arrive for your Settling in Session, all you will need to bring with you is anything you might normally take on an outing – spare change of clothes, favourite bottle (although the nursery provides bottles for the day, it might aid in the selling in process), pacifier, favourite snacks (again, the nursery provides this for you, however it might make for a smoother transition during the Settling in Sessions).
