At Baby Room children are based in their rooms according to age, starting in Blue when they are babies; moving into Pink once they are mobile; up to Yellow around two years old and finally to Purple for
the pre-school class in the year before they begin their reception year at school.
Children at Baby Room become friends with children similar to them in age and learn from the older ones
(we call this scaffolding). They learn how to behave as individuals but also to be comfortable as part
of a group. Our children often exhibit care and understanding of children younger than them in the nursery.
Whilst children are based in their room group they often get together as a larger group with other rooms or all together at times. They also move up rooms during which time they will be gradually integrate
into a new group.
We believe that these steady changes help our children learn and grow.
